Our Projects

International Aktion Club Service Initiative
The focus of the International Aktion Club Service Initiative is an organization called Sleeping Children Around the World (SCAW). SCAW is a nonprofit organization based in Toronto, Ontario. www.scaw.org
The mission of Sleeping Children Around the World is to provide bed kits to children in need throughout the developing world. This is carried out through Aktion Clubs donating $28 per kit. Each kit contains a sleeping mat, pillow, sheet, blanket, mosquito net (if applicable), clothes, towel and school supplies.
Kiwanis International has provided a grant of $10,000 and will match each Aktion Club’s donation of $200 towards the initiative. Upon delivery of the kits, the Aktion Club receives a photo and letter from the recepients.

District Aktion Club Service Initiative
The Cal-Nev-Ha District Aktion Clubs undertake a Special Service Initiative at the annual District Leadership Training Conference and Convention. The initiative is selected by Aktion Club members.  Aktion Club Convention attendees work on the the project during the convention.   The clubs usually take the things like baby blankets, hospital dolls and hygiene kits back and distribute them in their communities.

Club Service Projects
Working together to make their community and the world a better place one child and one community at a time, this is the service mission of Kiwanis and Aktion Club. Each Aktion Club defines its own service project priorities within this broad mission. Each club works to raise the funds to carry out their projects. Each Club undertakes the work to accomplish the mission striving to make their community and the world a better place.

Projects & Outreach

Aktion Club members are passionate about serving their community.  They are dedicated to the mission of Kiwanis of changing the world one child and one community at a time.  Aktion club members make a remarkable difference in their communities.  It is hard to imagine any project not undertaken by an Aktion Club and their members someplace in the world.  They believe in their ability to do what it takes to make a difference and take up almost any challenge.

“As a 12 year Kiwanian my most rewarding Kiwanis moments by far have been working with the Aktion Club.”
